Winterthur Magazine has Award-Wining Year

Greensboro, NC (August 12, 2007) – Winterthur Magazine, a quarterly periodical celebrating and exploring the renowned decorative art collections and gardens of Henry Francis du Pont’s Winterthur Museum & Country Estate—now in its second year of publication—has  received an impressive 11 awards for excellence in publishing. Launched in 2006 by Pace Communications, the world’s largest private custom publishing company, Winterthur Magazine contains compelling editorial content produced by well-known writers, photographers and illustrators with expertise in the American decorative arts and material culture, horticulture, travel, and architecture.

An overview of the awards conferred on the publication in 2006 include several APEX awards, a gold award from the Society of National Association Publications (SNAP) and numerous international Communicator Awards and Magnum Opus Awards. A detailed list of the awards follows below.

“It is so gratifying to receive these awards, since it means the quality of our work has been recognized by other publishing professionals,” said Susan Weissman, editor of Winterthur Magazine. “When we launched the publication last year, our goal was to create a sophisticated new magazine with intriguing stories supported by visually rich images that would create greater awareness of Winterthur Museum & Country Estate nationwide. Winning these awards is tangible proof that we are reaching our goal and helping to expand interest in this wonderful cultural institution.
